Privacy Policy

Proof (“Proof,” “we,” “us”) helps you check whether a quote, estimate, invoice, or bill for a repair or service is priced reasonably. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your email address and a unique account identifier so we can create and secure your account.
Documents and details you submit. Photos or PDFs of quotes you upload, and any figures you enter manually (prices, line items, ZIP code, job description). We use these only to extract the data and produce your analysis.
Analysis history. The quotes you analyze and the results are saved to your account so you can revisit them in “My Proofs.”
Purchase information. If you subscribe on the mobile app, Apple or Google processes your payment. Our payments partner (RevenueCat) and our server receive a subscription status and identifiers — never your card details.
Basic technical data. Standard request logs (e.g. timestamps, error information) needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use it

To extract data from your uploads and generate a price analysis.
To save your analysis history and show it back to you.
To authenticate you and keep the service secure.
To determine your entitlement (free quote vs. active subscription).

How your uploads are processed

To analyze a document, its contents are sent to our processing provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), which returns structured data and a price assessment. Providers are bound by their agreements with us and do not use your content to train their models. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploads for advertising.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that make Proof work — currently authentication (Clerk), document analysis (Anthropic), database hosting (Neon), application hosting (Vercel), and, on mobile, subscription management (RevenueCat) and the app stores (Apple, Google). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Retention

Your account and saved analyses remain until you delete an item or ask us to delete your account. You can remove individual analyses from “My Proofs” at any time.

Your choices

Delete any saved analysis from within the app.
Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple or Google account settings.

Children

Proof is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
